William A. Matteson
William Matteson founded Atlanta-based Matteson Partners, Inc. in 1987. From the beginning the firm's mission has been to provide a very personal brand of executive search services by leveraging the relationships, experience, and expertise of the firm's partners to shape effective placements. Matteson Partners offers its customers and candidates executive-level insights into their industries and disciplines, resulting in more effective placements. Accordingly, the firm has earned a widely recognized reputation for integrity, customer satisfaction, and retention among both customers and candidates alike.
In addition to managing the firm, Matteson remains very involved in new business development and ongoing searches for existing customers. He works closely with the firm's partners, believing that teamwork and applying collective resources to every search are critical to the success of the firm and its customers.
Prior to forming Matteson Partners, Matteson spent 18 years in a succession of managerial roles with the IBM Corporation, where he gained extensive domestic and international experience in sales, sales management, marketing, and human resources. Matteson's tenure with IBM included product management for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. In this capacity, he was responsible for all phases of product development, marketing, sales, and P&L.
Matteson holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Central Washington State University. He has completed coursework at the Wharton School; the J.L. Kellogg School; the Darden Graduate School of Business and specialized IBM training programs in New York and Belgium.
Sam W. Barcus
For over 25 years, Sam Barcus has helped organizations find new ways to identify, attract and sustain profitable customer relationships.
Sam began his career in information systems as a business analyst with Texas Instruments in Dallas. After completing his MBA in 1974, he went to work for an information services firm in Houston with customer service as a core responsibility. In 1976, he joined Price Waterhouse in Memphis as a consultant working on a variety of IT projects, then transferred to Nashville in 1979. His responsibilities included building then managing the consulting practice for the PW Nashville office. He co-founded the Barcus-Nugent Group in 1985 and Barcus McCracken International (BMI) in 1994. In 1996, BMI formed a joint venture with Target Marketing Systems and was called Target Consulting International, and in 1998 Sam co-founded Newleaf Consulting International.
Sam is a Certified Management Consultant and Certified Public Accountant. He has held leadership positions in several professional and community organizations, including the Tennessee Society of CPA's, the Planning Forum, the United Way's Management Development Center, the WPLN (Public Radio) Educational Foundation, and the Vanderbilt University Center for Clinical and Research Ethics.
The author of numerous articles, Sam has also published three books: The Handbook of Management Consulting, published by McGraw-Hill; and the Financial Information Systems Manual and Healthcare Controllers' Manual, both published by Warren, Gorham and Lamont. Sam has also served on the faculty of Belmont University's Jack Massey Graduate School of Business.
Sam's customers include leading telecommunications, information technology, and healthcare organizations. He has significant international experience with engagements in Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and North America. Consulting engagements target three key areas: customer relationship management, sales strategy implementation, and sales organization transformation.
Wade Hampton (Hamp) Weatherly III
Hamp has extensive general management, consulting, market development, and program management experience. After a short two-year retirement, he embarked on a new career as Marketing Principal for the family owned insurance business based in Raleigh, NC. He oversees the program management for a nation-wide life insurance conservation initiative for Fidelity and Guaranty Life Insurance. The program was recognized by F&G Life as the most successful such effort in their history. Prior to retirement, he worked for AT&T Wireless as an Operations Specialist directly supporting the VP Operations and Engineering for the Southeast region.
He co-founded W&H Integrated Technologies to provide telecommunications consulting and optimization services. He served for almost three years as Director Telecommunications for the State of Tennessee where he was responsible for all voice and data communications. Before the move to Tennessee, he was Manager of Data Communications for Carolina Power and Light Company. He came to CP&L from Wachovia Services where he was Communications Manager for their correspondent bank division. His professional career began with NCR where his technical training focused on data communications. He served in the Air Force after leaving East Carolina University. Hamp is a 59 year old Viet Nam era veteran currently living in Pinehurst, NC.
Michael R. Greenlee
Mike Greenlee has represented emerging growth companies since 1994 on corporate, financing, and technology transactional legal matters in the fields of financial services, communications, and Internet/Web-enabled services. From 1990 to 1994, Mike Greenlee held various positions at BellSouth in the engineering and legislative affairs group. Mike is a partner with Smith Frohwein Tempel Greenlee Blaha, LLC (www.lavagrouplaw.com) and Lava Group, Inc. (www.lavagroup.net). Mike is a licensed patent attorney and holds a J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law and a Civil Engineering degree from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Richard Dean
Richard has 25 years of experience as a Certified Public Accountant. He has been the senior partner in a CPA firm for many years. He has prepared various financial statements and tax returns for a wide range of businesses and individuals. Richard is also an attorney licensed in the state of Florida and practices in the areas of taxation and business organizations.
Richard has also been the Chief Financial Officer for Moladi Americas, a firm that develops and constructs housing in Central and South America.
